Beauty Buffet: Sheet Masks

After that week of madness with the snow, if you weren’t convinced about climate change before I hope you’re realising your mistake now, my skin has been suffering! Dry skin always gets worse in winter but when we’re getting minus degree weather regularly, it gets even harder to try and take care of your skin every day. Korean Sheet Masks are incredibly popular right now, they’re mostly single-use cotton pads, that not only leave you looking like a low budget horror villain but have been soaked in ingredients that are meant to keep your skin glowing and feeling soft. I think one of the things that make them so popular is the fact that the mask is only temporary, you can’t save it and use it again so you’re tempted to buy as many as you can, at least I am.

Luckily, I received these masks from a friend for Christmas so I haven’t done any reckless shopping! The masks are by a brand called Beauty Buffet, they are a Thai brand with the slogan, “the most delicious beauty shop in town”. Their products are described as under the ‘buffet-style’ prices so they’re really affordable and not as expensive as some department stores. As with other masks, you use after cleansing for face, smooth out mask over your face and leave on for 20-30 minutes. Masks like this usually leave a lot of product on your face afterwards (huge fan of this) so you just gently massage the remaining product into the skin until it is fully absorbed.

The two masks I have are the Rice Wine Yeast Moisturising Mask and the Royal Jelly Nourishing Mask. So, let’s get into what the active ingredients are and what they claim to do:

Rice Wine Mask:

Yeast Essence: nourishes and helps to rebuild skin texture

Micro Glycine: effectively lock in moisture for immediate hydrating effects

Hyaluronic Acid: creates a protective barrier against water loss and intensely for a supple luminous appearance

Royal Jelly Mask

Royal Jelly Extract: melts into the skin to help soothe, firm and refine, skin feels revitalised and smoothened

Acerola Fruit Extract: vitamin elements help to replenish, nourish and firm the skin, corrects imperfect skin tone and unveils a radiant complexion

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice: high performance radiator, provides prolonged moisture and helps to fight dryness while soothing the skin

Let’s just start off by saying that both masks are absolutely amazing. My skin has never felt softer after using them and even hours afterwards, my skin feels incredible. I haven’t noticed any difference in skin tone, I have dark under-eye circles and I haven’t seen them change in any way but it has helped with skin texture, I have definitely noticed that my skin is a lot smoother especially on my cheeks and forehead. The Royal Jelly mask is my favourite of the two, just because I adore fruity scents but in terms of the effects both masks had on my skin, they both did a great job. I would recommend using the masks as the very last step of a skincare routine, just because the amount of product left on your skin afterwards is basically the amount you would use as a moisturiser and it lasts for absolute ages.

You can buy these masks at YesStyle.co.uk and they retail for £3.68!
