RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 3: The Bitchelor
Warning: this post does include spoilers so if you haven't seen the episode, I suggest you go watch it now!
What is this, a Drag Race summary not rushed before I watch the new episode?? I could not wait to write about this one, it is definitely my favourite episode so far, the runway was amazing and the maxi challenge was amazing. Can you believe there are only 6 queens left now but before we get to that, let’s recap this episode! So the queens head back to the workroom (obviously) and immediately get into a bit of an argument about Thorgy’s message on the mirror, mostly Milk and Kennedy but who isn’t arguing with Milk this season. We’re also treated with another Game Of Thrones analogy from Shangela then we get into who Dela would have sent home and she also chose Thorgy. Then for some reason, they’re interested in what Milk thinks and she wanted Kennedy to go so Kennedy gets upset because it seems Milk doesn’t really give a fuck about her drag. The whole thing is so bizarre to me because I thought of all the queens there, Milk would be the one to get how horrible it can feel to have someone not respect your drag but whatever right?
On to the main challenge (does anyone else miss mini challenges?), it’s time for the queens to do some improv! It’s a ‘The Bachelor’ parody so all the queens are put into pairs and given different personas:
Aja & Kennedy (Needy girl/Party girl)
Dela & Bebe (Cougar/Shy virgin)
Trixie & Milk (Fake bitch/Psycho stalker)
Shangela & Chi Chi (Polyamorous couple)
So our Bachelor was Unreal’s Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, who is so cute, I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing this role. This was one of the funniest and well thought out challenges I’ve watched in ages, like it could be a whole show on it’s own! Of course all the top queens did well, Dela and Kennedy were hilarious to watch. Trixie was probably my favourite, her persona wasn’t over the top, she might have just been playing herself but she was hilarious! I kept getting so annoyed for her when Milk would interrupt, especially when what she was saying wasn’t even funny. So imagine my surprise when she doesn’t end up being one of the top two? I was even more shocked when Bebe was safe but I think that was probably due to her runway being fire. The theme was wigs on wigs on wigs and for the most part, everyone’s runway was incredible, Aja and Shangela were my favourites, their costumes were so beautiful!
Dela and Kennedy were the top queens (Trixie was so robbed) and Milk, ChiChi and Aja were the bottoms. To be fair to Aja, I kind of got where she was coming from, especially when she said she was going for a Farrah Moan kind of needy so I thought she should have been safe rather than in the bottom. I didn’t really like last week’s lip-sync, it was too meh, like it wasn’t fast enough or slow enough, just a weird song to lip-sync to but what happened next was one of the funniest things I have watched in a long time. Kennedy won the lip-sync and who did she choose to go home? MILK!!!!! I was screaming, I obviously didn’t think she would leave this early but the way she went was hilarious, all the other queens looked so shocked as well!
I cannot wait for this week’s episode, I just want to see everyone’s reactions and all the shade that’s heading for Kennedy! It’s Snatch Game next so can’t wait to see who everyone is going to impersonate!
