Our First London Fashion Week
A few months ago we got to go to our first show at London Fashion Week! This post is extremely late but I couldn’t not post about it. We were invited to two days of shows at Fashions Finest, which was founded by Deborah St. Louis, and launched in 2010 following on from the set-up of the Fashions Finest magazine in 2009. Fashions Finest has been promoting the diverse spectrum of the national and international fashion industry with primary focus on British designers. We also got to interview some of the designers who showed their collections which was a great experience in itself, it was amazing watching their designs and knowing the inspirations behind them:
Day One
The first day was me and Katie and I didn’t have a great start, I got my sister to lend me her camera so we could vlog the day and I charged the battery overnight so that we could record the whole weekend, but then I forgot the batteries at home. Nevertheless, we had such a fun day! We met quite a few ‘celebrities’, I spoke to one of my favourite youtubers Derin (you can view her channel here), Georgia from Love Island and Rachel from S-Club 7! Now on to the actual shows, it was so amazing to watch, we (very luckily) got front row for the first few shows so it was really easy to get great shots of the clothes. It was really inspiring to watch, fashion is something that I’ve been sort of interested in from afar but being able to actually watch someone’s work go down the catwalk and document it in person was amazing!
Day Two
The whole Milk News squad was finally together! This day was a lot more hectic, we actually spoke to other bloggers (if you met the four of us, you would know what a big deal that is) and got our photos taken by some photographers. I think the 2nd day was my favourite day out of the two, not only because we were all together (it had been so long and even now it was the last time all 4 of us were together) but the designs we saw were incredible! The designers we got to see were so talented, for anyone interested in fashion, I would definitely recommend going to London Fashion Week, even if it is only once. It was a great experience and hopefully we’ll be able to go again in February!
I think one of the reasons I loved London Fashion Week so much is because it gave me some inspiration and some motivation I've been missing for a while, I can't wait to see what 2018 holds for us but I know it's gonna be big!
