Countdown To LFW: Kim T. Rottmüller
Kim Tiziana Rottmüller moved to Florence, Italy in 2014 to study Fashion Design at Polimoda! Her designs combine flashy and powerful textiles which stress that provocation is beautiful as well as the discovery of oneself through her design. She had the chance to have her voice heard amongst a small selection of other designers in a video for Condé Nast Mindful Luxury 2017 and after her first year in 2015, one of her pieces was showcased in Palazzo Pitti for a Gala!
What three traits define you?
Determined, open minded and ambitious to realise my own capacities.
How is the fashion industry evolving?
The fashion industry is evolving, because designers and consumers are paying more attention about the place of production , environmental aspects and sustained yield . In my opinion thats one step closer to a more equal world as fashion has a great impact on people’s life and therefore can change a lot .
What are the biggest challenges in your career?
Fashion for me is art. Art means eternity, boundless possibilities. Sometimes it can be challenging to make a decision .
What can we expect from you/your brand throughout the rest of 2017?
After showcasing my collection Bittersweet Im going to start developing my new concept for the collection ’18.
Where does your inspiration come from?
Everything that provokes me emotionally. It can be a person, an object , history of culture etc.
How did you get into being a fashion designer?
It started quite early when I was still going to school. People always asked me where I got my clothes from and were inspired by my appearance. After I finished my school I took a break to think about my future and explore new things like travelling, work experience and so on. After that I was sure that I want to study Fashion Design.

How has your personal life influenced your career?
I had chances and time to freely decide what I wanted to do.
What was your greatest success in the past few years?
Great success for me includes also my private life and fulfilling experiences, things I can cross out from my TO DO LIST. Im grateful to have my friends and the possibility to travel with them to places we are interested in and to enrich our mind with new impressions. The latest one was an amazing trip to Fuerteventura this summer.
Do you have a Muse you wish you could see wearing your designs?
It can be a movie star as well as a woman from the street.
What are your plans for the future?
Within the next year Im going to graduate after a 4 year bachelor program from Polimoda in Florence and then looking out for an internship. The best is yet to come!
