Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are a triple threat with amazing beaches, nightlife and natural landscapes! Take a tour of the Timanfaya national park to explore volcanic landscapes or a boat over to the island of La Graciosa off the northern tip for a blissful day swimming in crystal clear water. Studio apartments can be found for between 21-25 GBP (24-29 EUR), not too bad if I say so myself!
Greece
The weather in Corfu typically amazing, it’s cheap and there’s great food! Some islands have a stronger ‘touristy’ culture than others like Crete, Corfu and Zante for example. Depending on the area of Greece you are traveling to, hostels will cost 10-35 EUR (8-30 GBP) for dorms and 25-40 EUR (21-35 GBP) for private rooms per night.
Mexico
Mexico can be an expensive place to go on holiday but you can make your money go further in low-key beach towns such as Tulum and Mazatlán. Mexico has some of the lowest prices for hostels with some as low as 125 MXN, about £6, a night! You could even stay at a budget hotel for (at least) 300 MXN, about £13! The street food is also extremely affordable, even a nice sit down restaurant wouldn’t set you back too far at around 300-600 MXN, about £13-26 a meal. If you’re into amazing archelogy, visit the ancient city of Coba or if waterfalls and jungles are more of your thing, visit Palenque!
Hungary
Hungary is known for having party central (Budapest) but it’s also one of the Europe’s most beautiful countries. It is also known as having the richest folk traditions alive in Europe! Visit the famous thermal baths in Széchenyi or take in Hungary’s great architecture!
Indonesia
Indonesia is an extremely popular holiday destination because it’s so budget-friendly so it’s easy to visit the island and not have to worry about breaking the bank. Indonesia has over 13,000 islands with great things to offer which includes everyone’s favourite island, Bali! You can find budget hotels here for 200,000 IDR, about £11 a night and even chain hotels for 400,000 IDR, about £24 a night! Enjoy things you wouldn’t necessary find at home like yoga retreats or Bali’s famous water temples!
