Eating At Harana
Harana is a Turkish restaurant in Shepherds Bush (basically behind White City Westfield). The restaurant itself was quite small but in a really cosy way, it felt like a really informal, almost as if we were going to someone’s house to eat! One of my pet peeves recently are restaurants where the music is too loud to have a conversation, but the music here was perfect, there were no awkward silences because of it but it was low enough for us to hear each other talk.
Our waitress was so nice and friendly and seemed genuinely interested in how we were doing and helping us order. I don’t usually go out for Turkish food, usually just boring burgers and chips, so I went for the mixed grill which came with lamb, chicken, rice and cous cous. We didn't have to wait too long for our food at all, I was so happy because the portions were huge, I couldn’t even finish my food because I made the mistake of eating before I came.
The mixed grill tasted amazing and tasted even better when I had the leftovers the next day! It was so flavourful and there were spices inside the lamb that tasted amazing and wasn’t overwhelming at all.
We were also given Turkish delights when we asked for our bill, which I’m not really a fan of, but it was nice of them. The food was really affordable as well and I would definitely recommend visiting if you’re ever near Westfield.
