Favourite Products For Dry Skin
Let me start this post by saying that I hate winter, I hate it so much. I love the things that come with winter like my birthday, Christmas and the general feeling of family time and cosyness but I just can’t stand the cold. I’m anaemic so I’m cold even when the weather is mild, I’m freezing, even worse my skin always seems to suffer more in winter, I have dry skin anyway but the cold weather makes it extra flaky and I become prone to break outs. However I have a skin routine that helps to keep all of this in control and makes sure that my skin is moisturised and behaving before and after I use makeup! My favourite products for dry skin are:
Mask Of Magnanimity - Lush, £6.25
Angels On Bare Skin - Lush, £7.25
NYX Professional Makeup Setting Spray Dewy Finish - Boots, £7.00
NYX Professional Makeup Studio Finishing Powder Translucent Finish - Boots, £8.00
Simple Kind To Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel - Boots, £3.45
Palmers Raw Shea Body Lotion - Asda, £2.50
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - Boots, £5.33
Mask Of Magnanimity
One of the best masks I’ve used, the peppermint in it makes it really cooling and so gentle. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all and its amazing for those days where I feel my face needs to be refreshed like if my makeup's been really high coverage or after going to the gym.
Angels On Bare Skin
The better you prepare your face before using makeup, the better your makeup looks, one of the areas I struggle with, especially in winter, being able to use full coverage products with it looking cakey. I love using the Angels On Bare Skin cleanser when I wash my face as it acts like a gentle exfoliator and gets rid of flaky skin so my makeup applies smoothly.
NYX Professional Makeup Setting Spray Dewy Finish
One of if not the best setting spray out there, I don’t think I’ll be able to convey how much I love this spray! I’ve gone through 2 of these bottles already and I need to go purchase another before they run out again. I first used the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and it was alright but my face would feel sticky and uncomfortable sometimes so when NYX starting coming out in Boots I thought I would try their dewy spray since it was only £7 and it was the best decision ever! It helps my concealer and powder sink into my skin so it looks more natural and my skin doesn’t feel tight or dry at all, completely recommend, my makeup routine wouldn’t be complete without this!
NYX Professional Makeup Studio Finishing Powder Translucent Finish
Another one of my favourites from NYX, I usually stay away from powders, especially loose powders, as they don't usually help with keeping my skin stay moisturised throughout the day but I have loved using this one. The powder is really fine and a little bit goes a long way, it sets my concealer without making the area look flaky or dry.
Palmers Raw Shea Body Lotion
I had to include at least one moisturiser in this list, and this one is my absolute favourite! I don’t really like using primers because most of the ones I’ve come across don’t really help with dry skin but I’ve found that mixing a generous amount of the raw shea body lotion and whatever primer I happen to be using at the time (at the moment I’m still using the nivea shaving balm), my skin stays moisturised whilst also reaping the benefits of having a primer on to help my makeup stay on and who doesn't love smelling like chocolate.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
Literally one of the best purchases you’ll make when it comes to makeup removal. It is perfect for dry skin as it removes your makeup without making your skin feel tight afterwards like makeup wipes sometimes do. It also doesn’t irritate your eyes when removing eye makeup and it lasts for ages, I’ve only just finished my bottle but I’ve had it for over a year now!
