YGT Talks At Google Campus
On 12th November I went to one of the most motivating events ever! Emily Beeson from Young Gold Teeth organised a day full of inspiring speakers talking about their experiences in the creative industry and giving advice to all the creatives in attendance:
I honestly could not have had a better day, as someone who spent university being spoken down to and bantered for not studying something more academic than Journalism like Engineering or Law, it was really amazing to be with like-minded people who recognised that being a ‘creative’ or trying to work in the creative industry is a legitimate career choice and just like any other job or industry, it can be exhausting and difficult but so rewarding.
My favourite speakers of the day were Alec Dudson, the founder and editor in chief of Intern Magazine, Illustrator Jade Spranklen aka Sprankenstein and one of my favourite bloggers Chidera from The Slumflower.
I was so grateful to be able to ask people who are doing exactly what I want to do career-wise for advice and have them want to help and take a look at what I do (like this website).
Like many of us, lately I’ve been losing motivation due to just being exhausted all the time but this event definitely gave me the push I needed to remember to never give up and that success isn’t just handed to you.
Thanks again to Emily for organising this event, my sisters and I loved the goodies we went home with!
