It's A Wrap! #LGCCreativeChristmas with The London Graphic Centre
Last week we were invited to the London Graphic Centre’s flagship store in Covent Garden to take part in their #LGCWrapBattle, not to be confused with actual rap! Located off of the corner of Shelton St, in the heart of Covent Garden, the London Graphic Centre, LGC for short, is the longest established arts retailer in London (born in 1973) and has three branches which all specialise in Art and Graphics materials.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly faces who encouraged us to have a wander around the store. Equipped with two large floors full of arts and crafts, The LGC attracts both new and old. Who doesn't love a good stationary shop? We know we do!
It was nice to get a chance to marvel at all the creative supplies and mingle with other bloggers like us to which we would eventually be competing against:
Everything the store had to offer was down to a T, you need a new paint brush set? They got it. Looking for a 2016/17 diary for the new year? They got it. How about gifting that friend or loved one who loves jotting things down or likes to draw as part of their so called 'therapeutic regime'. You know what we're going to say; YEP, They've got it.
After some mingling and chatter, we were introduced to the team over some tasty treats (ever heard of prosecco crisps? Yes, really that is a thing!) and bubbly. And now here comes the best bit: The Wrap Battle. The what you say? Let us break it down for you.
The brief:
You have approx. 10/15mins to wrap two presents
You must use all the utensils/materials given to you on your table
Think outside of the box
Get CREATIVE (MANDATORY)
No fighting/squabbling (We ran into this a few times...)
And above all else, have FUN!
It was so much fun having free reign over the materials provided and getting to be so creative but even after all that excitement, the surprises didn't end! The lovely Michelle informed us that the London Graphic Centre has launched its own blog! You can check it out here and even enter a competition to win the gifts we wrapped, which are amazing btw, you're not even going to want to open them because of how beautifully we wrapped them.
If you think that was it, there's even more! The store is also having a Christmas Fair on the 10th of December from 10:30AM to 6:30PM. The fair will include workshops like notebook embossing when you buy any A5 Leuchtturm notebook, a gift wrapping station and an entire store to buy unique gifts for your loved ones. If that wasn't enough, there are goody bags with purchases over £25!
We had an amazing time and were completely blown away not only by the event itself but the generosity of the London Graphic Centre, thanks again to the very talented Calligrapher Alex Rayment for our personalised tags!
