Drag Race All Stars 2: Learning Your HERstory

*Spoilers ahead*

This week's episode was a weird one, there was no mini challenge again but their main challenge was a Lip Sync Extravaganza! All the queens were assigned roles, which again is weird because usually there would be a mini challenge and then the winner would get to pick what role they wanted but whatever. The theme was 'Bad Bitches of HERstory' and here were the roles everyone got:

Alaska - Eve

Katya - Princess Diana

Roxxxy - Eva Paron

Alyssa - Annie Oakley

Phi Phi - Helen of Troy

Detox - Marie Antoinette

Ginger Minj - Catherine The Great

So first thought when Ru was handing out the roles was, boring. Usually I love the Lip Sync Extravaganza episode but this one was just odd, the women chosen seemed so random like first of all where are the black women (thats another argument for another post), secondly I'm pretty sure not everyone would agree that Helen of Troy or Marie Antoinette were exactly 'bad bitches' but I'm sure Ru had his reasons.

This episode I'm really trying to like Phi Phi like reaaaally trying, apparently the way she was portrayed last episode as completely wrong and both Alyssa and Roxxxy had asked for her input so she wasn't actually trying to put anyone down. However, I still don't like her, maybe the producers just wanted some sort of conflict this episode but all of her cutaways were just digs at Alyssa and it was irritating to watch especially since Alyssa seems like she's having so much fun this season and not being so hard on herself.

Now on to the extravaganza itself! The song is actually really good, like this challenge was really entertaining to watch and listen to and Alyssa was absolutely amazing. All of the queens did well but Alyssa especially was so good even when she was just in the background. But they did Katya so wrong. Her part was so boring and I don't know whether its just because it was Princess Diana or they just needed someone to do badly so the choice for bottom two was easier but it was so bad. As soon as she had her little bit in the song, I knew she was going to be in the bottom and I was so upset because I know if she had had any other part she would have killed it and would be at the top, but I digress. So at the end of the challenge, they had the runway of course and the theme was 'future of drag race', I completely agreed with the judges I thought Detox, Phi Phi and Alaska looked amazing, Katya and Roxxxy didn't look bad but they did look boring compared to the other and Ginger's outfit honestly made me cringe, it reminded me of Madame LaQueer's sci-fi outfit.

So rightfully so, Alyssa and Detox come out on top and it's Katya and Ginger Minj in the bottom two which is sad because outside the show they are really close. I was getting so ready to not watch the season anymore because I really thought Katya was going home but thankfully Alyssa won and chose Ginger Minj to be sent home.

I felt bad about Ginger being sent home but I understood Alyssa's decision, even though Katya is my fave and I knew she did deserve to be to be in the bottom two, she has so much more to offer than Ginger. I feel like Ginger was just sort of doing the same thing she did in season 7 and she is talented but I've just never been a fan. Plus if your runway is so bad that even doing well in a challenge means you're still in the bottom, then you probably deserve to go.
