Drag Race Is Back!
*Spoilers ahead!*
RuPaul's Drag Race is finally back! It's All Stars season 2 and it looks like Ru Paul brought back all the fan favourites and it looks like they're all from season 5! The Queens brought back from this season are:
L-R: Alaska, Adore Delano, Alyssa Edwards, Coco Montrese, Detox, Ginger Minj, Katya, Phi Phi O'Hara, Roxxxy Andrews and Tatianna!
The season premiere was such a good one! Now obviously the episode starts with the signature workshop walk ins, and it really does look like a season 5 reunion, as Alaska, Alyssa, Coco, Detox and Roxxxy were all in the same season together but it doesn't seem to bother the others. So much focus is put on Phi Phi and Roxxxy because they were basically bullies on their seasons and are both back to redeem themselves and let people know that they're actually really nice. Only time will tell but hopefully they're being genuine but either way it makes cute TV right?
Now every episode has the same format, RuPaul gives them a mini challenge, one of them wins a small prize or some sort of advantage for the next challenge, he then tells them what their main challenge will be, then they're judged for it, the bottom two lip sync to stay and one of them goes home. HOWEVER, this season there's a twist! This time, the top two will lip sync for $10,000 and will have the opportunity to send one of the bottom three home!
Last week's main challenge was a talent show! Now as to be expected most of them either danced or sang, Coco did some weird dancey old hollywood thing, Alyssa was crazy and amazing as usual but Roxxxy and Tatianna came out of top with performances in burlesque and spoken word. The bottom three were Adore who sang but Michelle basically ripped her to shreds because of her outfit, Coco for obvious reasons and Phi Phi for singing A capella but being a bit flat. So Tatianna and Roxxxy lip sync *for their legacy* and Roxxxy wins, she gets the first $10k and sends home Coco, which if she didn't would be suck a mistake but she honestly did the worst.
So this weeks episode is all about our favourite drag race challenge, Snatch Game! I cannot wait to see who everyone is gonna impersonate and who's gonna be going home and write a proper post about what I made of the episode.
