5 Things To Do After Uni

It's been 2 months since The Milk Team finished University and we've been sitting at home with all the time on our hands. You spent all your time wishing uni would finish and now it has you spend all your time wishing you could go back, not because you really miss it but because of BOREDOM.

Here's 5 things to keep you going!

1) Read, Read, Read

Indulge yourself in books will be a quick getaway from the reality of life after uni. Try drowning out all the "So what's the plan now?" "Do you have a job?" "You should have your life sorted by September" and sink into a good book.

Here are a few suggestions:

While My Eyes Were Closed by Linda Green

"One, two, three . . . Lisa Dale shuts her eyes and counts to one hundred during a game of hide-and-seek. When she opens them, her four-year-old daughter Ella is gone. Disappeared without a trace. The police, the media and Lisa's family all think they know who snatched Ella. But what if the person who took her isn't a stranger? What if they are convinced they are doing the right thing? And what if Lisa's little girl is in danger of disappearing forever?"

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

"Once known only by an elite who were unwilling to share their knowledge of the power, 'the secret' of obtaining anything you desire is now revealed by prominent physicists, authors and philosophers as being based in the universal Law of Attraction. And the good news is that anyone can access its power to bring themselves health, wealth and happiness."

After You by Jojo Moyes

The sequel to Me Before You - in cinemas now

"Lou Clark has lots of questions. Like how it is she's ended up working in an airport bar, spending every shift watching other people jet off to new places. Or why the flat she's owned for a year still doesn't feel like home. Whether her close-knit family can forgive her for what she did eighteen months ago. And will she ever get over the love of her life. What Lou does know for certain is that something has to change. Then, one night, it does. But does the stranger on her doorstep hold the answers Lou is searching for - or just more questions? Close the door and life continues: simple, ordered, safe. Open it and she risks everything. But Lou once made a promise to live. And if she's going to keep it, she has to invite them in."

2) Dive Into Your Hobbies

What is it that you never got to do because you were too busy in the library or attending lectures? Write a list on all the things you love and get right to it. Don't hold back and doing the things you love will help you get over the after uni blues and push you towards your future.

3) Go Outside

Even if its just a pop to the corner shop. Staying inside turns you crazy and we all need a little fresh air each day just to clear our minds. Admiring nature and the atmosphere around you will help. Pay attention to the details, the trees, the flowers, the puddles... since we never get sun in England.

4) Spend Time With Your Family and Friends

3 years away from home is a very long time, although many of you do not want to move back home and want to keep your independence, try to spend time with your loved ones as it was a long 3 years for them too.

Take your siblings out to see Finding Dory, take your mum to the florist, just enjoy their company until you have to start your career.

5) Enjoy Yourself

Don't rush, be proud of all those years you've just completed and enjoy the little break that you deserve!

I know you feel like you have to have your life sorted now because "I'm at uni. is no longer an excuse but "I've just finished uni!" is certainly a new one you could use.
