Actor Anton Yelchin has died, aged 27
The Star Trek star is set to have died as a result of a freak car accident at the age of 27. According to police, he was found to be pinned by his car at his home in the early hours of Sunday morning.
His publicist, Jennifer Allen gave a statement which said: “Actor Anton Yelchin was killed in a fatal traffic collision early this morning, his family requests you respect their privacy at this time.”
Yelchin starred in many indie films and various television shows, before breaking out in films like "Charlie Bartlett" and "Fright Night." His biggest role to date has been in the rebooted "Star Trek" films — the third of which, "Star Trek Beyond" comes out in July.
