Oscars 2016 - The Nominations
The nominations for the 88th Academy Awards were officially announced on Thursday with The Revenant leading with 12 nominations overall. However the announcement did come with controversy as for the second year in a row, no actors of colour received any nominations in the main categories. The Academy Awards did express that they wanted to avoid another embarrassing trend on Twitter, as last year the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite trended worldwide throughout the ceremony.
