Parliament's majority in favour for air strikes in Syria: Twitter's reaction

An overwhelming majority of 397 to 223 votes were in favour to back military action against so-called ISIS terrorist groups in Syria last night at Westminster. The results were broadcasted live on mainstream media television at around 10:30pm when The Speaker officially announced Parliament's 174 overall majority.

Many users took to Twitter using the hashtags #SyriaVote and #NotInMyName to share their reactions of the results.

Some were in favour of the result but many said to be 'sickened' and 'immoral' amid the Prime Minister's statement shared on the micro-blogging website, "I believe the House has taken the right decision to keep the UK safe - military action in Syria as one part of a broader strategy."

Celebrities also tweeted anti-air strike reactions, UK Grime artists Stormzy and Skepta wrote,

@Stormzy1: Politicians are sh*t... These politicians should put on their combats and go Syria themselves."

@skepta: We are all out here on a survival of the fittest ting, the quicker man realise that the better. Keep praying and protect your family.

Nicola Sturgeon, Leader of the Scottish National Party also rallied a petition shared on Twitter titled, "Don't Bomb Syria" with an estimate of 27,000 signatures.

The subject, said to be 'controversial' has been up for debate for several months. MP's spent a total 10 hours in the House of Commons debating and coming to a resolution on whether or not to support the United Nations in bombing Syria.

UK Air missiles are said to take flight from a base located in Cyprus in a matter of hours.
